Pickling cucumbers, also know as “burpee cucumbers”, have the perfect skin thickness, and size for pickling in jars. The seeds are generally smaller, and the skin is less waxy and thick from normal cucumbers.

Pickling cucumbers are sold by the pound, or in bulk by the half bushel for those with a yummy dill pickle canning recipe. Please call ahead to make sure size and quantity are available the day you wish to purchase.
WAYS TO PREPARE
Pickling cucumbers can be used the same as cucumber, and often doesn’t even need to be peeled. But for those who like to make dill pickles, try some refrigerator pickles. This takes the work out of having to can all of your pickles, and they tend to be ready to eat in just about a week.
